Russell Kinsey
Russell Kinsey will graduate form the John Marshall Law School in January of 2012. He will also receive his LLM in Intellectual Property from John Marshall in May 2012. He previously received a BA in Music Theory/Composition from Elmhurst College in Illinois. During his time at Hurley Stanners, Russell has researched and written Memoranda on such topics as the enforceability of an incidental and consequential damages exculpatory clause, various issues for Limtied Liability Companies and the Work For Hire Doctrine as it applies to documentary film cameramen. Russell's experience at Hurley Stanners has exposed him to transactional law including drafting client correspondence, drafting Employment and Licensing agreements, and issues related to the importance of business consulting and marketing legal services with social media and blogs. Russell hopes to pursue a career with an emphasis on Copyright or Entertainment law.
Eric Mail
Eric Mail is a third year student at DePaul University
College of Law and will be graduating with his J.D. in May, 2011. He graduated cum laude from Notre Dame in South
Bend, Indiana, with a
B.A. in Political Science in 2007.
During his time with Hurley Stanners, Eric has performed extensive
research on the Illinois Real Estate Act, the Illinois Business Corporations
Act, the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, and the United States
Copyright Act of 1976. He has also
performed damages calculations, analyzed contracts, drafted correspondence, and
prepared Annual Reports for the firm’s numerous corporate and LLC clients. Though appreciative of the wide range of
corporate experience, Eric particularly enjoyed working with Ms. Hurley on
copyright matters and hopes to pursue a career in Intellectual Property law
post-graduation.

Michael McCray
Michael R. McCray is a third year law student at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Michael will acquire his J.D. and LL.M. in Intellectual Property in January, 2011. In 2007, he graduated cum laude from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania with a joint degree in International Studies and Chinese Studies. During his time with Hurley Stanners, Michael worked on various corporate and intellectual property matters, including conducting research on limited liability company law in Illinois and Iowa; conducting research on forcible entry and detainer law and calculating damages under the applicable commercial Lease; conducting research on the copyrightability of an installation art piece for a world-class artist; drafting a response to a cease and desist letter; helping with the firm’s social media presence; and working closely with the Managing Partner on other firm matters.

Kristin Corrigan
Kristin Corrigan is a second year law student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She graduated magna cum laude from St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO with a B.A. in Political Science. During her time with HSL Kristin has worked with an author/publisher developing contracts for her new imprint, worked on a chapter on Illinois law for an international book on Doing Business in the United States and conducted research on a number of business related legal issues.

Xavier Hailey
Xavier Hailey is a third year law student at DePaul University College of Law. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and will graduate with his law degree in May, 2010. Xavier looks to join an intellectual property law firm and work in the prosecution of patents but loves business law too. We expect great things from him. In his free time he can be found listening to tapes on sales and business techniques and writing poetry.
Vidya Battu
Vidya Battu graduated from Emory University College of Law in 2008. She graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago in 2001 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences. After practical engineering experience, she began her legal studies in 2003. Vidya looks to join an intellectual property law firm and work in the prosecution of patents.
